Encaustic on Paper

Diving deeper into paper arts, Catherine Nash works in Washi and Western paper-making, as well as encaustic painting (applying heated, pigmented beeswax to surfaces). The rawness of these techniques is obvious in her works, and the common motifs of nature bring another element of purity into her art. Starting from the beginning with the creation of her own paper (which itself is long, and intensive art process), and the creation of her own pigmented wax, these works are entirely her own from the canvas to the mediums.
